Dots of a Ladybug

Tonight's card is one of the cutest yet! I adore the simplicity of  it, and I can only imagine all the different reasons and occasions that it could be used for! Everything from Friendship, to Get Well Soon, to Teacher...and everything in between!

The Cardbase is Bazzill, in 'Bazzill White'. I thought this card needed a more subdued cardbase, considering what I planned to use on it! The wonderful dotted paper is actually embossed, so the dots are raised, and the texture it adds to a card is amazing! You can get the same paper from Pebbles, and it's called 'Brand New'. It's part of their New Addition line of baby themed papers, but as you can see, it can be used for so much more! This particular paper is from the boy's set of papers.

The graphic used is from a Studio that is quickly becoming one of my favorites: Whimsy and Stars. She's called 'Little Ladybug', and I colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol. I wanted to make her a little different, so I gave her white wings instead of the normal red. I think it looks fun!

To finish, I wrapped a pretty chocolate sheer ribbon around the card, and tied it in a simple bow. I added a Filigree Charm from Close To My Heart, and I thinking it added a lot to the card. Like I said, the simplicity of this card is what I was going for, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Birthday Blessings

Seems I missed yesterday as well...sorry for that. My Daughter was traveling and had a few adventures on her way  back to Kansas. She met up with a couple friends around Joplin and didn't get to leave until midnight! Needless to say, I was waiting for word of her getting home. Thankfully I got it at 3 this morning! Whew, I was so worried!

Today's cardbase is from Gina K Designs for a change, and is called 'Black Onyx'. As for the pretty striped paper, I don't quite remember where I got it,...Hobby Lobby I think. But there is a very similar paper put out by The Paper Loft, and it's Called 'Candy Apple'. I personally LOVE The Paper Loft, they have such cute papers and embellishments for all occasions. I layered a strip of green and white dots over that, but again, I think this was just a Hobby Lobby Paper. I know of a similar paper being sold by Canvas Corps.

The image is from Whimsy and Stars Studio, and she's called 'Molly's Cupcake'. I colored her the normal way, with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol, and like always, a touch of glitter. She's layered on top of a soft orange cardstock, which has been scalloped, and a two tiny pearls have been added, just for fun.

I loved making this card, and I hope you enjoy her too!

Daisy Days

Tonight's card is another or those multi-purpose cards I'm so fond of. The cardbase is Bazzill (are you seeing a theme here with who my favorite paper makers are?) in 'Brown'. I used another of their papers in 'Starmist' as a layer to break up the colors a bit, and then placed a wonderful swirly brown and turquoise paper on top of that. The layer beneath the image is called 'Jacaranda', and it's also from Bazzill. See, I told you I love their papers. :)

The image is called 'Flower Girl' and it's by the Whimsy and Stars Studio. I colored her in my normal fashion, using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol. I added a touch of Glitter, and really just had a ton of fun coloring her. I wrapped some tulle around the card, tied it in a tiny bow, and added a sweet dotted butterfly embellishment. The butterfly is from Jenni Bowlin Studio, and comes in a pack of 5 various butterflies. The link is here. The pearls really help set it off I think.

I hope you're enjoying my Card-a-Day project as much as I am! Please tune in tomorrow for another great card!

Sending You Hugs

Tonight's card was such a blast to make! It took a little over 30 minutes, minus coloring time. I'm too much of a perfectionist for my own good sometimes. :)

The cardbase is from Bazzill, in 'Kevin'. The green plaid paper was purchased at Hobby Lobby, and it had no name. The pretty blue dotted paper is again from Bazzill, and is called 'Poolside'. The upper plaid paper is from one of my absolute favorite companies, Basic Grey. The paper came out of the 6x6 paper pad called 'Marjolaine'. The other papera all came from Bazzill, but for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of them. I used a basic baby blue grosgrain ribbon to break things up, and added a cute little button my daughter picked out.

The image is from The Paper Shelter, and after debating, I decided on 'Teddy Bear with Flower'. I mean look at him....he's adorable.  He's colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol, and I added a touch of glitter as well. Over ll I think the card came out very cute, and could be used for TONS of different reasons. Again, thanks so much for stopping by and having a look!

Roses and Pearls

So my goal to post once a day has already been compromised. I'm so sorry I didn't post a card yesterday, but I had one of those 'so tired you can't sit still without falling asleep' days. Needless to say, I was sleepy. But I'm posting again tonight! Hopefully I won't have too many more nights like that...

Tonight's cardbase is from Gina K Design, in 'Passionate Pink'. The layered green is from Bazzill, and is 'Intense Kiwi'. The white cardstock has been embossed with the 'Swiss Dots' design from Stampin' Up, and as you can see from my January 1st post, the dots have tons of fun uses. The layered paper beneath the image is one of my personal favorites, and it's 'Newsprint Word Love Struck' by Making Memories.

I used an image from Wimsey and Stars Studio, which I colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamesol. I added a touch of glitter to the heart, for some cuteness. The roses I used are two different brands, and the same ones I used in the Picnic Days post. I layered a pretty pink satin ribbon on the card, and some quick pearls to make the image really pop. I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do!

Picnic Days

Welcome back! It's day two of my Card-A-Day project, and I decided to make things a bit more colorful this time.

For today's card, I decided to use a square cardbase made from Bazzill in 'Frosted Kiwi'. As for the wonderful plaid paper, it's a simple mixture of pale and bold pink, green, yellow, and a touch of blue. There is a thick width section of pink grosgrain across the lower midsection, which I thought helped break up the card a bit. The image I used is from The Paper Shelter, and is called 'Let's make Pic-nic!' I colored the image with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils and Gamsol. The pearl stickers in the corners are from Color Stories, and are called 'Green Faux Pearls'.

These wonderful roses were purchased at Micheal's, and have been difficult to link to. The center rose, the largest of the three, is made by Recollections. It's part of their Boutique Fleur line, and is called Mulberry Paper Roses. The darker roses on the outside are from Martha Stewart Crafts, and are called 'Paper Rose'.

Welcome 2011!

As I promised, a new beginning! I'm going to be posting ONE new card, once a day, everyday!

I'm going to do my best to link you to the materials used, give you exact colors, etc. I think this will be really fun, and a great learning experience for many, myself included. In undertaking this challenge, I'm going to be pushed to my creative limit, but that's half the fun!

Today's card is themed for New Years.

The black cardbase is 'Black Onyx' from Gina K Design. The white cardstock is embossed with 'Swiss Dots' from Stampin' Up. The adorable little bear has no name to him, but he can be found at Stamp Fairy here. I colored him with Prisma Premier colored pencils, and Gamsol. I also used Sakura Glitter Pens, in 'Clear Star' to accent the stars and some of the stripes on his hat. Glossy accents from Inkssentials was used on the bottom of his feet, and his nose, just to give some depth and fun feeling to this card.

The pretty red and white dotted ribbon is a simple satin ribbon, which I tied in a small knot, and attached a small label to with multicolored string. Overall, this was a very fun and simple card to make, taking a little over 30 minutes. I'm too much of a perfectionist for my own good sometimes. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my little blog, and please stay tuned for tomorrow's update!
