Lighthouse Love

I aimed pretty high this time, but I think I nailed it!

I decided to try my hand at a more masculine card tonight, and wanted a bit of a change up as well, so I'm using a cardbase made from Gina K's Luxury Cardstock in White. I love the 120 lb. cardstock, and prefer it to anything else I've ever used to be honest. I layered a piece of extra cardstock on top of the base, then used a plaid paper from the Marjolaine Paper Pack, which is put out by Basic Grey.

As for the lovely Lighthouse graphic, it is actually a stamp from Gina K, and is part of her By The Sea Stamp Set. I used a die cut to create that perfect circle, then just stamped on top of that! I just some glitter accents using one of my glitter pens I had lying around. I put some soft blue ribbon around the lower third of the card. and used a tag made with a Spellbinders die-cut. Both of these die-cuts were used on a previous card of mine, 'You're Just My Style!'.

Sweets For My Sweet

I'm back to posting on a regular basis! Whew, I kind of forgot how much work this was. A card a day may be more than I bargained for when I started this, but I'll keep on doing it! I need to challenge myself to get better and better...

This cardbase is Bazzill, in a lovely hue called 'Lime Sherbet'. The layered paper is from Hobby Lobby, I think. But I found a very pretty alternative from Pebbles that would look just as lovely! The white cardstock I used in the layers below the image are both Bazzill White, with the pink layer being from my scrap pile.

As for those pretty scallops around the edge, I used the 'Classic Scallop' from Edgeabilities , and cut them in such a way that they would line up at the corners. I got it perfect except that one tiny corner. >_<  I added a ribbon to cross the card, and some little jewels to add some sparkle! The graphic is one you may have seen before, as I used her in my 'Birthday Blessings' post way back when I first started this blog. She's called 'Molly's Cupcake' and is made by the Whimsy and Stars Studio. She's colored in my normal fashion; Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol.

Tulips in Spring

Wow...it has been a while. I'm SO sorry for not posting in so long, but we've had some things happening at home! My youngest child, Kristopher, was finally given his deployment date into the Air Force! He'll be leaving for Basic Training in June, and we've just been so busy making sure to get everything ready, I guess I let the blog get away from me a bit. You know how it is, when you already have one child who lives a state away and is busy with college and a hunny bunny...you do everything to make sure you have the most with the time you have left with the youngest who's getting ready to become a man. But I digress...CARDS!

This card stock is once again Bazzill, but in a color I don't use too often; 'Whimsy'. The striped paper I layered on top is actually from Hobby Lobby, but since I don't have a way to link it, I found a free to use and print paper online that would look great on this card! To be honest, there isn't much in way of linking on this card, since almost everything was a scrap from another project. :)

The image was a free coloring sheet off of Google, though from where, I honestly can't remember. I colored her using Prismacolor Pencils, and blended the colors together using Gamesol. A couple little jewels were added, to add some sparkle, and I finished by adding a fun tag.

Again, I'm so sorry for taking this long to post, but I have mothering to do!

Spring Has Sprung

It's been a long process doing these cards night after night, day after day...and I think I'm ready for a change. So in the near future I'm going to stars posting tags, envelopes, and other super fun surprises to come! Make sure you stay tuned for my newest creations!

This cardbase is from Bazzill, in 'Fawn'. The layered paper was hard for me to remember, though I know it's an old K&Company design. There are many wonderful papers in this book though, that would go with this card beautifully! This is  pretty simple card, but it makes such a wonderful gift all the same.

The image is another free coloring, which I colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamesol. I just love how she came out! SO cute and sweet! You can find her here, free to color for yourself! The blue ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, and the flowers are Reflections.

You're Just My Style!

Tonight's cardbase is actually from Gina K, and is made of her luxury cardstock called 'Black Onyx'. I ADORE her cardstock, but I prefer to use it on the smaller cards.  I layered a bit of her white cardstock top of the base, then just kep layering! The lovely green paper was originally from Basic Grey, but I haven't been able to find it, so I found an alternative for you here.

The layered effect of this card was created mostly with Nestabilites, if you know of them. I love the look they can bring to a card! I used a few different ones here; I started with the scalloped circle, then layered the plain circles on top of that. The dress image is actually a stamp from Gina K as well, called 'Retro Boutique'. I colored the bottom of the dress with Coptic markers this time, hence why the color just POPS. The pattern on the dress was actually cut out from another piece of paper, and glued on. I LOVE IT.

Sunflower Afternoon

This card making thing has really been exhausting, but I'm so glad to say I have accomplished as much as I have!

The cardbase is Bazzill, in 'Lemonade'. The yellow plaid and the pink flowered papers both come from K & Company, though I don't rememeber which paper pack they came from. While I'm not normally inclined to put so much yellow on a card, I think this one looks pretty good. I used the Martha Stewart edge punch 'Doily Lace', along the edge of the pink paper.

The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils, and blended with Gamesol. I used Whimsy and Stars studio again, as I just ADORE her graphics. This one is called 'Faith Flowers'. The sheer white ribbon was from Wal-Mart and the button is from my jar. Overall, this card came super adorable!
