Pretty In Pink

A cute card for a lovely day...

Tonight's Cardbase is once again from Bazzill, in the hue of 'Java'. I used 'Romance' and layered that over the cardbase. The plaid striped paper is from Pebbles, and is part of their New Arrival - Girl collection. It's called 'Bundle of Joy'. The striped brown and pink sidebar is from the same collection, though it's called 'Rock-A-Bye'. I used the same pink Bazzill cardstock under the image as well.

The image is from Whimsy and Stars Studio, and you may have seen her before! I used the same image in my 'Daisy Days' post, but she was colored differently. I'm always amazed by how much these digi's change with different colors. She's called 'Flower Girl'. The swirl up the sidebar is from Prima, called 'Say It In Crystals', and though I couldn't find one exactly like it online, I found one close.

Gathering Wild Flowers

Well, another night, another card...

Well, this cardbase is different than most of my others, since it's put out by Close to my Heart. It's in the shade called 'Sweet Leaf', however, since it's put out by Close to My Heart, I can find no place to link to it where it's for sale. The words paper layered on top of that is much the same way, thou I can't even recall the name of it.To get these papers, please contact your local Close to my Heart Representative! The pink layer is Bazzill in 'Coral', and the green layer on top of that is from Hobby Lobby.

This image was actually a coloring page I scaled down! I got her here, and colored her with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol. The white ribbon was a gift, and the button came from my button drawer. I added a sweet little tag, and called it done! I'm very happy with how this card came out...

Love Bug

Well, tonight I went for a different card style, and I think I nailed it alright!

The cardbase for tonight's card is a little different, as I decided to use a textured cardstock. I love the dotted paper, so I used the Dotted Swiss Cardstock by Bazzill in 'Salt'. The pretty green dotted paper is from Bo Bunny, and is called 'Abbey Road Dot'. All the cardstock on this card came from Bazzill, and I used quite the assortment of colors; 'Lagoon', 'Brown', and 'Starmist'.

This image is from a new source: Ladybug Crafts Ink. I used the image called 'Roadster Nikki'. She's colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Blended with Gamesol. The pearls were some spare's I had lying around, and the pretty ribbon came from the .50 cent bin at Wal-Mart.

Have a Beary Happy Birthday

Well I'm sorry that I haven't been posting the last few days, I was feeling rather ill and worn out, and as soon as I got home from work, I just simply fell asleep. But I'm feeling a bit better now, and decided I should get a card posted before I get so tired again!

Tonight I decided to make a fun little Birthday card using a Bazzill cardbase in 'Mysterious Teal'. The layered paper on top of the base is from Bo Bunny, though I can't seem to find a link to the original paper. I did find a great alternative though. You should be able to use almost any of the papers from the 'Garden Girl' collection. I layered a stripe of Bazzill paper on top, and placed a ribbon over that. I think it breaks up the card well.

The image is from The Stamp Fairy, and is the first in her line called 'Lenny's Cupcakes'. I colored them in my normal fashion, using the Prismacolor Pencils and blending with Gamesol. I added colored Glossy Accents to their noses. Isn't it cute? Spare pearls were used on the corners, and a simply bow and tag were added.

Welcoming Spring

Well, I couldn't resist. I fond another fairy image, and I fell in love.

The cardbase is a lovely shade of 'Papaya' by Bazzill. Now, as for that amazing plaid printed paper, I simply can NOT find a link to it. It was put out by Close to my Heart in the Spring/Summer 2011 idea book, but I've looked all over the web, and just can't find a place to link to it.  The papers layed on top of that are both Bazzill, in 'Sunbeam' and 'Bahama'

The border on the center section of the card was created with the Scallop Trim Border Punch by Stampin' Up. I LOVE this punch. I also used the snowflake punch from Martha Stewart. I used this same stamp in two other previous cards: It's Beary Cold Outside, and This is Snow Fun. The image is from Wee Stamps and is called 'Winter Fairy'. Isn't she just TOO cute? Colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamesol. I used some spare pearls for the center of the snowflakes. :)

You're so Sweet!

Another night, another card...but this time, I opted for something out of my normal usage. Isn't it just adorable?

Lots of layers on this card! The Cardbase is actually Gina K this time, in 'white'. I layered a simple brown from Hobby Lobby on that, then another layer of paper, this time it's 'quartz' by Bazzill. On top of that, I used 'Brand New' from Pebble's New arrival line. I used this same paper in my post titled Dots of a Ladybug.

The image I used is a freebie from Birds Cards, and isn't is just adorable! Here's a link to the cupcake, and the border that's around it. I colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol. I used some extra adhesive pearls I had lying around to decorate the border.

The white and pink layered paper is another Hobby Lobby find of mine, and I layered a beautiful sheer ribbon with that, and tied a cute flower button on top. The button is from my button jar, so no telling where it came from.

Ribbons and Lace

Another card!

Well, we're back to using Bazzil for our cardbase, and it's 'Bazzill White' this time. The layered paper was from Hobby Lobby, though I found a great alternative from Bo Bunny called 'Ella Dot'. it's part of their Shabby Princess line, and is so very very cute! Tonights image is from a new source: The Saturated Canary. It's different than I would normally use, but I thought I would give her images a try. I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with Gamesol.

The pearl flourish up the side was bought years ago, but the company is still around. It's from Prima, and is called 'Say it in Pearls'. I used the white, but it's not available on the website right now. The lace bow was made from reminant lace that I got for cheap at Joann Fabrics, and the lovely brad in the center is from My Minds Eye.

A Little Silver Fairy

As some of you might know, and others won't, my daughter used to draw A LOT. It was never anything very serious, as she's not really the serious type...it was always fun and whimsical and light-hearted. Most of the time it was in the anime or manga style, but after she moved away from home, she almost constantly drew and painted fairies. I saw this little digi-stamp from Wee Stamps, called 'Silver Fairy', and I thought of her immediately. Sge doesn't draw much anymore, since she's gotten into photography and Graphic Design work...but every time I see a fairy image, I think of her. <3

This time, everything is different! No Bazzill paper was used at all, and almost the entire card is Close to my Heart. This cardbase is in the 'Bamboo' color. The layered paper on top is called a Floral B&T Duo, but both papers came from the Close to my Heart kit 'Miracle'. It seems this kit is no longer being made, as the only place I could find one for sale was on ebay...

The ribbon across the card is from Clear Dollar Stamps, and is called 'Hot Cocoa'. The pretty little buckle is actually a ribbon slide from Close to my Heart. As for those amazing hat pins? You can't get those anywhere, since I made them myself. :) The flowers are all the Reflections brand from Micheal's, and the flourish is actually something I made using the spare bits of other pearl strands I had lying around.

Just Hanging Around

Well, I've been working on trying to branch out from what I normally do, and I think I REALLY did it with this card.

And once again, Bazzill is the cardbase! I decided to use a color that I wouldn't normally use, to so right along with this very unique card. The color is 'Lemonade'. The jungle animal paper was bought over 4 years ago, so the tag, as well as my memory of the brand, is LONG gone. I want to say Bo Bunny was the maker, but I really have no idea at this point.

This image was actually found on Google while browsing, and I can't seem to locate it either...seems it's not my night for re-finding things. I colored him like I color all my images: Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol. I added a scalloped edge up the side of the image, as well as a pretty little die-cut flower, with a jewel in the center. Overall, for trying something really new, I think it came out great!

Little Flower Girl

We'll we've come to another evening, and another card!

The cardbase is Bazzill, in 'Bazzill White'. The striped paper was actually bought in a set years and years ago, so tracking it down has been rather impossible. I searched and searched both online and all through my tags, but nothing. However... I found a paper that I think will look just as good on this card! It's from Chatter Box, and is called 'Ribbon Stripe'.

Tonight's image is from a new source I've found, called Wee Stamps. Her images are just so very very cute! This image is called 'Wee Florist', and I just adore all the little details on her! I colored her like I normally do, with Prismacolor Pencils, and used Gamesol to blend. The roses and the patches were the funnest things about this image to color. Her hair proved to be kind of a challenge, since the braids were difficult to shade.

I added some great embellishments on this card! I used some adhesive pearls already set in a flourish pattern to sweep up the side of the image. This particular flourish is from the 'Opaline' line by Basic Grey. The roses may look familiar to you, and that's because I used them in my 'Roses and Pearls' card. These wonderful roses were purchased at Micheal's, and have been difficult to link to. The corner rose, the largest, is made by Recollections. It's part of their Boutique Fleur line, and is called Mulberry Paper Roses. The smaller roses on the outside are from Martha Stewart Crafts, and are called 'Paper Rose'. A few adhesive pearls in the corner, and I'm finished!

Happy Birthday Fore You!

Well, I've been looking at my cards and thought, "I have almost no boy/men type cards...I need to make some!" And here you'll see, I have tried. I didn't think it would be so difficult to find images for boys, let alone put together a boy themed card. But I got it done, and I'm pretty content with how it came out. :)

The cardstock cardbase is the same as all my large cards: Bazzill. This particular color was hard to track down in my box, but after a bit of searching, I'm pretty confident in calling this one 'Fawn'. I think I got the argyle paper from Hobby Lobby, but it's been so long since I bought it, I really don't remember. However, I did go through my tag bucket and found something that would make a great replacement! It's called 'Cafe Noir', and it'a part of the Marjolaine line by Basic Grey.

This image is once again from The Stamp Fairy, and it's the last in her line called 'Lenny Father's Day'. He's colored in the normal way, of Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol I thought the glitter argyle was a cute touch. :) I used an adhesive pearl to make his golf ball really pop, and also used glossy accents on his nose. Some blue grosgrain ribbon was used to make a little bow in the corner, and was topped off with a button. Overall, I think I did a good job for a boy card. They're seriously harder than I thought...but that's what this whole thing is about, pushing myself to get even better!

With All My Heart

Well, it seems I just can't catch a break lately. I tried to post a card all day yesterday, but it seems something is up with my router. I just managed to get it up, so I'm hoping it stays up long enough to get this post done. :)

The Cardbase is Bazzill, in 'Watermelon'. I adore the paper I layered on top of the cardbase, however, I've looked all through my tag bucket, and can NOT seem to find the tag for this paper. I may he lost it. But in any case, here's a set of papers that could be used as an alternative. As for the wonderful digital stamp on this card, I used Whimsy and Stars image titled 'With All of my Heart'. She's colored in the normal way, with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol.

I added a fun little ribbon now, and tied it together with a button on top. I just love the colors! I finished the card with a tag, and overall I'm happy with this card! I hope you like it as much as I do!

It's Beary Cold Outside

Welcome once again to my Card-A-Day project! It's been rather chilly here lately, but with no hint of snow to speak of. This make me kind of disappointed, so I decided to make a few snow themed cards instead! I posted one last night, but I just love this card so much, I couldn't wait to post him!

'Marigold' was the color of today's cardbase, and like usual, the maker is Bazzill. I've been working on the 'less is more' theory lately, and in keeping with that, I only used one paper to  majorly layer this card. This particular paper is from Hobby Lobby...I think. I may have the paper tag in my tag bucket, but since I'm away from home right now, it's impossible to get to. :) I did find an alternative paper that would be lovely on this though. It's called 'Winter Words' by Karen Foster.

The image used today is from The Stamp Fairy, and it;s the first in her line of  birthday/occasions stamps. I colored him with my Prismacolor Pencils, and blended the colors with Gamesol. Glossy accents were used on his cold little nose, and I always have to add a touch of glitter! I wrapped a bit of twine around the card, and secured it with one of those lovely snowflakes I used in my 'This Is Snow Fun' post. The punch used to make them is from Martha Stewart, and I just used what spare paper I had on hand. I added an adhesive pearl to the center of each snowflake, and called it done!

This Is Snow Fun!

Whew, I'm getting behind on this card making! But you know, every mother and wife has those days where she simply has too much going on to take a few minutes for herself. Last night was one of those nights. So I'm sorry for missing another card, but being a wife and mother takes priority! :)

I once again used the Bazzill White paper as my cardbase. I layered a sheet of dark red scrapbook paper on that, so that my image would be the main focus the card. The paper was bought at the local Hobby Lobby, so check your to see if it's available. My image is actually a coloring sheet from the show 'Franklin'. I colored it using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol.

For those pretty snowflakes, I just used some white cardstock I had lying around, and used my 'Snowflake Punch' from Martha Stewart. It's a nice punch, and easy to use as well! I put some delicate red pearls in the center of each, to better balance the red vs. white ratio. You can find some similar pearls here. I printed out a fun phrase, and used it to make a tag as well. I think the entire thing looks just adorable!

Messy Miss You

I figured I would try something a bit different for tonight's card, so let me know what you think! I'm happy with it...

Like most of the other cards I've posted, I'm using Bazzill Monochromatic Cardstock for my Cardbase, this one is 'Bazzill White'. I layered a pretty blue checkered paper on top of the base, though I didn't have a tag for this particular paper. I'm pretty sure I got it from Hobby Lobby though, so something similar shouldn't be too hard to find. :) This time I used an image from a site I just found, and I was so happy to find it! I got her here, and colored her with the normal Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol. Isn't she just the cutest?

The rosettes on this card were actually made by a co-worker of mine, and if you'd like some, just ask me! I'm sure I can get her to make more. :) The pretty brads on top are from My Minds Eye, and are part of their 'Lush' collection. I added a checkered ribbon in red, and a small tag as well. You might notice the red stitching around the image...well I've been playing with my paper sewing machine, and I think it's working out ok. :)

Birthday Wishes

Wow, I never thought I would manage to get this far with this project! I'm so proud of myself! I really think I'm getting better and gaining some good skills as each card comes to life night after night. My daughter thinks so anyway. :)

Again, I'm using Bazzill for the cardbase. I just love their papers! This particular color is called 'beeswax'. As for the striped paper I layered on top, I have searched and searched and still not found the tag from that paper. So I found an alternative you could use! It's put out by Bo Bunny, and is part of their 'Clowning Around' line. The same can be said for the lovely orange dotted paper, as I seem to have lost the tag for it as well. So, another alternative! This time I found a paper from Scrappy Avenue, called 'Mistletoe Dot Vanilla'.

The image is from the Stamp Fairy, and it's the 4th one in her Birthday line. The link is here. I colored this cutie in my normal way, with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol. And for a little whimsy, I used Glossy Accents for his nose! I think I'm getting better at coloring these images. My Daughter likes the bolder colors, but I'm not too sure about them yet...

I tied a pretty blue ribbon into a bow, and sewed on a simple little button. The handwritten tag really makes this a special card. :)

I Adore You

The Cardbase is once again Bazzill, in a wonderful soft pink called 'Coral'. The pink plaid paper layered on top of that is actually a double-sided paper called 'Cupid', which is made by Making Memories. I put a simple chocolate colored paper over that, and just kept on layering! The beautiful antiqued paper with the scrolling writing on it is from Martha Stewart Crafts, and is in her 'Valentine' paper pad. On Top of that, I put a fun pink paper, and then the inage! Whew, lots of layers...but so very pretty!

The flowers are the same ones I used in 'Roses and Pearls' and 'Picnic Days'. The lace, well, to be honest...it's was just something I had lying around. I can't quite remember where or what project it came from. :)

The I Adore You tag is actually a rub on, also by Making Memories. I added a fun punch-out to put my newly made tag on, and put some delicate little pearls on there as well. I finished it off with a sheer shimmery ribbon tied into a medium sized bow, and added a spare charm I had lying around.

The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamesol, and I used the same Glossy Accents from Welcome 2011! on the little bears' nose and paw pads. There's a touch of glitter on the petals in his flower as well. This bear is from the Stamp Fairy, and it's the third one in the 'Thank You' group. So cute!

I LOVED this card! It was fun, it was challenging, and it's helping me get better with accents and layering. Overall, I think it's one of my best yet! I hope you'll agree as well.

Love and Happy Scrapping!
